How do I splice the flexible black hose that supplies propane to a grill?
Thanks for the info, I am gathering that this might not be the best thing to do. My end goal is to extend the hose and move the propane tank out of site. I have a 5 foot length of extension hose with a male and female end. I would like to connect this to the hose currently coming out of the valve assembly, however that has a copper factory looking clamp on both ends. I was hoping it would be threaded and I could just unscrew the old, screw on the new. Perhaps I need to replace the valve assembly with one that has a threaded input--an additional cost, but perhaps the right thing to do. It is a home-built concrete grill; I was looking for a short term solution initially and bought a valve assembly that appears to not scaling to what I need.
It may be cheaper to replace it, not to mention safer. But a small pipe and 2 hose clamps should do it.
